![]() | The Shelter construction begins with a massive foundation slab. The Slab is poured 12 inches thick with high strength concrete, reinforced with a 5/8" rebasr. Heavy rebar stubs are then inserted to anchor the rebar cage of the shelter. After the slab is set the inner forms and roof forms are erected. The seams are then sealed and the forms are sprayed with a concrete release agent. Next the reinforcement bar cage is built around the inner forms. Finally the outer forms, coated with release agent, are put in place. The outer forms are then secured with steel cables around the perimeter to prevent bulging from the tremendous pressure of the wet concrete, and we are ready to pour. | |||||||||
